Microsoft Buys ZeniMax & Bethesda Softworks for $7,5B

Microsoft has announced that they have purchased Zenimax Media which included Bethesda Softworks and ZeniMax Online Studios for 7.5 billion dollars.

This means a shift in ownership for properties like Elder Scrolls Online and Fallout 76.

After the purchase Microsoft now owns 23 in-house Xbox game developers.

Bethesda will still run as it’s own division with the same leadership structure, and in a tweet from Matt Firor, Studio Director of ZeniMax Online Studios, reassured ESO players that the game would continue to be updated and operated as it was before.
